[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Blank page after first gallery added – can’t add new images/galleries, etc

  • Hi, I have installed the latest version of NextGen in WordPress 2.7.
    Everything seems fine until I add the first gallery and set its write permissions. When I try to add photos to this gallery, I get a blank page. I get this blank page when trying to get into the Add Gallery/Images section. Everything else seems to be working. I just can’t figure out what’s happening to this part.

    I’ve tried disabling all of my plugins, but no luck. I was using NextGen on another site/server and it worked fine, so I’m thinking it might have to do with my server settings. Can anyone else who has had this problem let me know what I should be looking for?

    I, too, am having a similar problem. I upgraded to WP 2.7.1. I also upgraded to NextGen 1.1.0.

    From WP dashboard, when I click on Add Gallery / Images I am treated to a blank page. I also get a blank page when Manage Gallery.

    Clicking on the rest of the options generates the expected pages.

    Same or similar problem.

    Fresh, new install
    WordPress 2.7.1
    NextGEN Gallery 1.1.0
    Earthlink UNIX hosting

    After creating initial gallery I get a blank page with all expected WP admin menus on top and in left margin.

    From WP dashboard, when I click on Add Gallery / Images I get a blank page. I also get a blank page when clicking on Manage Gallery.

    All other options generate the expected pages.

    Gallery and album directories got created. I have permissions set to 777.

    The initial gallery shows up under Manage Albums. I can add the gallery to the album successfully.

    I have used NextGEN Gallery with WordPress 2.6. Working great; no problems at all; Love it!

    Anyone have an idea what the problem is?

    I have just discovered the same problem and my host is also Earthlink! Does anyone have an idea for a solution?

    my girlfriend had a similar problem with the albums page.

    she figured out it was her webhost setting having a really low timeout value.

    when she changed the page load timeout settings it worked out…

    try searching “maximum execution time” on your server….
