[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Can't add new gallery

i’m having the same issue.

Same Problem here. I also would like to link some of the photos in the gallery to a new page. However, I can only find posts from 3 years ago to fix this, and the code no longer matches.

Can you check in the database if the entry for your new gallery is created ?

Well, I have reinstalled the plugin again since I wasn’t having any luck and haven’t imported the old galleries again to recreate the problem. But, from what I remember, it was not creating the record on the database. It was creating the folder though.

i ended up deleting and reinstalling as well. havent had any issues since…

My results are a little different… I’ve reinstalled 3 times. The plugin works fine until I import the tables from my old website into the new one. Once I try to import, it breaks. The images/galleries from the old site show up, but it won’t let me add any new galleries. Right now, I’m just adding new galleries and left the ones from the old site off. I’d love to be able to get them back on the new site.

i think you probably need to start with new tables all together.

Check your permissions, as was the case with me after transferring site.

Permissions on the server folders that is.

@iamteejay – I just tried again. This time, I made sure the permissions on the gallery folder and the nextgen folder are correct. Still no luck getting it to add new galleries. Which folder(s) did you change permissions on?

@alex – I just imported the wp_ngg_gallery and wp_ngg_pictures tables from my old site into the new one. The old pictures are all showing on the new website now. But, now I can’t add new galleries. I looked at the database and it does not create the new records. It does, however, add the new folder to the gallery folder on my server. Any ideas? I’d really like to include these 100+ old galleries in my new site!

I change the UPLOADS folder. I have a similar problem that you are having. All my uploads are going to an older uploads folder and not creating new ones. So, I am beginning to get stuck like you, but in a different way.

It seems like there are 101 ways to do something and each gets a different result.

I will stay posted and see what I come up with.

@sandmt – sounds like you tried everything i did as well…and unfortunately i had to go back and re-add all 169 galleries i had originally added. did you go into the actual nextgen-gallery plugin settings and uninstall through there? you’re going to lose everything but i couldn’t figure out another way. definitely time consuming to add everything back, but it works now.

I just did an update install of the NextGEN plugin and made sure my WP was up-to-date as well.

The only thing that I lost, after setting the permissions, is the ability to edit my thumbs which doesn’t work any more. I can edit my past thumbs, just not any new ones. Go figure.
