• Hi,

    I just updated my wordpress to version 2.7 and updated my NextGen Gallery to version 1.0.0.
    For adding a new gallery oder pictures I am asked to automatically update the database in order to use it with the new version. After I pressed the Update-Button nothing happened and the next time I’m asked again.

    Help me! Where’s the problem with it?

    Thank you!
    markus

  • Here is what I see when trying to upgrade:
    click here

    Otherwise It’s the same as cobra & andrejqo with the never ending request to update the DB with no joy.

    bummer…

    I think that problem is with quantity of galeries. I have up to 500

    I think, that can be a quantity of galeries… I have up to 500

    Gimme an oar andrejqo, as you and I are in the same boat.

    I turned off all but the NextGen Gallery plugins, memeory limit at 128 and 70 galleries.

    My results are the same as andrejqo’s so I won’t bother posting screenies.

    Where to now?

    I tested under PHP 5 300-500 Images to upgrade, I never tested 500 galleries with 10000 images. I need to debug it on such a enviroment, If someone is willing to help I need please contact me by mail, I need access to a system with such problems.

    thanks

    andrejqo, not me ?? Got maybe 30 or 50 gallery’s. Not that much ?? Doest’n work.

    I’d love to help, but I only have about 1200 photos in my 70 galleries…

    That, and i downgraded to .99 just to get things back up and running.

    Alex I found out what the problem is, it is actually the number of galleries one has on his/her website.

    What I did to make the upgrade work was to rename the gallery folder in wp-content and create a blank gallery folder. That solved the problem. After the upgrade I simply delete the empty gallery folder and rename the original back to gallery.

    One problem though and I think this is major in my opinion. Galleries must have a name in order to view or edit pictures in a gallery. Older galleries that were uploaded via the zip file tool won’t have a name therefore they can not be edited.

    Alex, can you edit the code so we can click on the gallery ID, instead of the gallery name, to edit the galleries or click on both.

    You also need to put back the [click to view original size] in the thickbox effect.

    Thanks in advance…

    Hey THANKS sruglass!

    Your method worked wonderfully!

    No prob bro

    Geat man! Thank you a lot !!! :-)))) I am saved !!! ?? ?? ??

    THIS IS SOLUTION:

    rename the gallery folder in wp-content and create a blank gallery folder. That solved the problem. After the upgrade I simply delete the empty gallery folder and rename the original back to gallery.

    I have an idea what could be the problem, here are two solutions :

    a) Look into admin/upgrade.php and search for ngg_import_date_time();
    Comment it out by using //ngg_import_date_time();

    b) I’ve added some more debug information which may help, please downlaod this new admin/upgrade.php file and test it again… please post screenshots

    @alexrabe

    Commenting-out that line worked.

    Thanks!

    OK, but my feeling that the date/time import causes this issue is correct. Comment out the function mentioned in a) should work. I will release a fix in two hours…
