[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Displaying album slideshows on same page

  • I’ve got several albums divided into 2 galleries that I display on one page. I’d like for one to be able to click on an album and have it simply open the slideshow on top of the current page (sorry, I don’t know the technical way to say it – the screen goes dark and the slideshow loads on top). Currently it can only do this AFTER it opens the album on another or current page and you have to click on the thumbnail.

    The problem with doing it the current way is that the album title disappears so one no longer knows what album they’re in on the 2nd page (or what the previous albums were without going back).

    Is there anyway to have the slideshow load right away instead of inserting that extra step?

  • You could add the compact version of your album to the gallery page below the gallery thumbs so that the album is there all the time.

    I have also added the album shortcode to the text widget and put it in my sidebar. Then my album is there no matter what page people are one.

    Thanks for your response, artbiz. Here is what I got so far for the gallery – which puts a thumbnail in for me. Are you saying I should put the compact version code in twice?

    You would need the short code twice as you have shown only if you want to call in 2 different albums. Looks like that is what you have done. And you can call in as many albums that you want and use the short code as many times as you need.

    Im doing something similar, where I have more than one album in the same post. When one album is being viewed the others do not show. One difference thought I am using compact versions for all. Like so:

    I’m not, and want to stay away, from using the sidebar text widget.

    hi there, is it possible when you click the compact album it will show in sliding format?? not just simple slider format but in galleryview fotmat?
