[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Get post ID with pretty permalinks for single.php

I wrote a while ago about using NextGen to support post-based galleries displayed in the sidebar.

Working example

It was working fine until I converted to a pretty permalink structure yesterday. The galleries are based off the post ID and I can’t seem to retrieve it (get_the_ID doesn’t produce it accurately) to link the post with the gallery.
