[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Image size

I recently updated to WordPress 3.1.1, and now I am having a problem with the image sizes. No matter what size image I upload into a NextGen gallery (e.g. 285 x 380 pixels), the image is resized to around 650 x 850 pixels. This results in an image that is a) too big and b) very blurry.

Please note: I do NOT have automatic resize checked off.
Another problem is that, whenever I delete the problem images and try uploading again, ALL the images I have uploaded previously are again uploaded. In other words, let’s say I uploaded one image, then deleted it, then uploaded it again. But when I upload again, the previously uploaded image is also reloaded. So now I have two of the same image. If I delete those and then upload an image again, now I have three of the same images, etc., etc.
Please note: I AM deleting the browsing history after each new upload.
