• NextGen is a great plugin…don’t u just love a plugin that just works! One issue though. When i upload files with a %20 in the filename this causes the url to the image to contain a space which causes the browser to be unable to load the image. Once i removed all the spaces the problem went away, thumbnails and all worked fine.

  • Have the same problem. Images won’t load- have tried 777 permissions on both gallery and plugin and also 777 on gallery and 755 on plugin.

    Please help.

    Also, updates not working on WordPress or Plugins.

    Ideas?

    well what it did was use Firebug to see why the images weren’t loading Turns out it wasn’t finding them (404). Try copying the url to one of the images directly into the browser address bar and see if it finds it, if not then th browser can’t find the image. i immediately thought permissions as well but it turned out to be the filename which was illegal – had spaces (%20) so u can try making filenames simple and see if that works. About the updates…i gave up on installing Nextgen from WP dashboard cause it’s kind of big – almost 2M. can’t remember getting a WP core update done on hosted site, always done it from my local pc. hosting may be too slow. Try firebug to see if the files are being found and if they are taking long to load. maybe it’s timing out or something. If you give me your blog address i can have a look around for u.

    Hello wadadliblue, I have problem here about my Nextgen Plugin. The image and the thumbnails I have in my site, when I click them, it seems like they are loading forever. I cannot find a clue what happen. Please check my site at https://www.macsopals.com/all-opal-products/unset-opals/ironstone-matrix/opal-id-1010117-ironstone-matrix/

    There is a request made when the thumbnails are clicked for the loadingAnimation.gif which does display but there is no other request. When i click on the thumnail i get the following error:
    uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [rel=Opal_ID#_1010117_Ironstone_Matrix]
    Line 0
    It seems like the thumbnail links come out with this attribute:
    rel=”Opal_ID#_1010117_Ironstone_Matrix”

    This looks like an html error. According to https://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/att_a_rel.asp, the “rel” attribute has a specific set of allowed values. My GUESS is that MAYBE the author of a plugin that you use uses this attribute to carry some sort of information to be used by javascript. did you recently update jquery or something? Is it only now that you are having this problem?

    There also seems to be another error:
    “NetworkError: 404 Not Found – https://www.macsopals.com/images/general/warning-bg.png
    Probably unrelated but u should fix it anyway. The above link doesn’t conform to wordpress directory structure. so it may be the a plugin or stylesheet is trying to find in the wordpress root what it should be looking for in the plugin or theme folder

    Thanks for your response, unfortunately, still I cannot find a way how to fix this. I used wp-ecommerce plugin and a NextGen Gallery. At first, it works fine but this last week, its just keep loading. I am pretty sure I did not update any plugins. I am now deactivating my jquery and still the problem is here.
