    I installed a fresh copy of wordpress 3. I then proceeded to manually convert it into a multi-site wordpress environment. This i did by following the instructions at www.ads-software.com

    Then i downloaded and installed the nextgen gallery plugin and network activated it, as it is supposed to be working in a multi-site wordpress setup.

    It all seems to work except for one thing.. the Import Image folder option is not working. I checked the folder chmod settings etc but i could not find the problem.

    Can someone, or Alex, give some advice before i a am forced to go back to two seperate sites ??

  • It’s intentional that the import folder option is disabled for multi-sites…

    Right.. didn’t not read that anywhere or overlooked it.

    Got a really interesting question though.. I got a couple of sites i run and it is a real bonus to be able to admin them through one console. One of these sites is filled with pictures, lots of them, and it is a nice feature of nextgen to import folders. So.. drumroll.. would it be able to grant at least one admin the option to import folders?

    You say it is intentional.. but i do not see why.. can you explain it to me and others why it is disabled?

    And please understand one thing.. i love nextgen! As do many others ??

    I thought in the past that a multisite blog doesn’t allow other user to access to the server… anyway admin/addgallery.php line 283/284 :

    if (!is_multisite() && nggGallery::current_user_can( 'NextGEN Import image folder' ) )
       $tabs['importfolder'] = __('Import image folder', 'nggallery');

    just remove !is_multisite() &&

    Thanks Alex for the code edit tip.

    And yes normally the multisite blog does not allow other user access to the server.. accept when the admin runs multiple websites of his own (like me).

    Thanks again!

    hmm so i have admin/addgallery.php open, and this line is no where to be found, has it sense been moved from some kind of update? Im using the latest..
