• I have the NextGen Gallery plugin version 1.6.2 and have started to have a problem with the add Gallery button in the TinyMCEditor. When I select the button the window opens up but has this error message in place of the normal choices:
    Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.9 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.9 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_jk/1.2.25 mod_python/3.3.2-dev-20080819 Python/2.5.1 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.8.8 Server at https://www.texbiker.net Port 80

I contacted my host provider and they are not helpful. They say the error is caused by the program.

The other problem is with the Flash image uploader. When I select the images to upload the program goes through the paces with the red bar scrolling across th page but when it is finished I get this message:
    Directory /home/myblog/public-html/blog/wp-content/gallery/11-28-2010-charts-weather-and-map contains no pictures

When the Flash uploader is working I see this error message as well:
    Error HTTP Error: imagename.jpg : 500
for each image that is attempting to upload.

Any ideas on what is causing these problems? Are they separate or related?

I fixed the problem. The problem started when I installed WP-Cache and then uninstalled it. Somehow the file permissions changed and then I changed them. The solution:
–change the folder permissions of the WP-Content/plugins folder and the sub-directories to 744. Do not change the file permissions to 744.
–change the file permissions to 644 in the NextGen-Gallery folder only.

Now the internal server error has gone away and I can use the Flash image uploader again. I used Filezilla as my FTP program. There is an option in the CHMOD action to apply the change to folders and files.
