    Hello.

NextGEN gallery is just awsome! Best one there is, in my opinion. But I have a minor problem.

I just upgraded to version 1.4.0 and noticed that the navigation buttons (next, previous) aren’t there anymore under the images displayed with the Thickbox effect. The Shutter effect has them and they work perfectly, but the Shutter effect doesn’t adjust the image sizes to the given display. I would like the images to be displayed without scroll – like it happens with Thickbox.

So, can I bring back the navigation buttons for Thickbox (or did I do something wrong and that’s why they aren’t there anymore?) or can I make Shutter to display the images in such a way that you don’t need to scroll (to dynamically adjust their sizes if they’re too big on smaller displays )?

Thank you and congratulations for the otherwise excellent plug-in!

Same here with Thickbox not working after upgrad to 1.4.
But with me, Shutter doesnt work either. When I activate Shutter and then click on a thumbnail my browser opens just the image without any javascript effects. I don’t know if Shutter worked before the upgrade to 1.4.

As I remember, the Shutter effect did work for me before, but, as I’ve said, it didn’t adjust the size of the images if they were too big on a smaller display.

In my case the images open without any java effects if in the “Effects” menu, from Gallery/Options, the Highslide or Lightbox effects are selected (and which, I understand, are not installed by default), so it’s normal that it does so. If you selected Thickbox (like here) and still does this, I guess you could try to install the plug-in again. You have nothing to lose…

    Hi Alex,

I have the same problem since version 1.4. The behaviour is the same when using Firefox 3.5 (latest) or IE8. Please have a look here:

    Thanks for you efforts.

Version 1.4.1 fixed the Shutter problem, it works now.

Thickbox still doesn’t display navigation elements. As I want to keep my galleries navigable and am using Shutter to asure that, I can’t give an example. If the example from ruscello does not suffice, I will switch to Thickbox and post the URL here.

    Hello Alex,

I love your NextGEN gallery plug-in, it is the best. Sadly, I have the same problem with 1.4 & 1.4.1 and just thought I’d post my example as well:

    https://www.managaleria.com/?page_id=53

    I also use IE8.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks,
    Julia

I manage a number of WordPress installations with NexGen Gallery installed, and I’ve run into the same issue… However, it’s not happening consistently to every installation. With a few sites I upgraded to the current 1.4.1 and the “Previous/Next” links remained intact, and yet with others, they just disappeared after updating.

In all cases, the current version of WordPress is 2.8.5, and the Nexgen version was 1.3.6 or higher, before the upgrade.

You can see an example where the links still work at: https://www.freshstartcreative.com/preview/products/cups/

And a site where the links disappeared at: https://www.goodegallery.com/gallery/portrait/

I’ve tried disabling other plugins to see if there might be some sort of conflict, but even with ALL other plugins deactivated, the problem persists. All the sites are using the same K2 theme and similar configurations.

Any help with this issue would be much appreciated. I have at least 6 sites that I manage with NexGen installed, and I don’t want to update any client sites until I can find an answer.

    Thanks,
    Roger

https://www.treidem.ro/?p=523 – another example, even though the others are suffice. I’m also running wordpress 2.8.5 and I’ve updated to Nextgen 1.4.1.

Until a solution is found for Thickbox, can the Shutter effect display the pictures dynamically, can it adjust them so they open optimally on all sizes of displays?

    @ruscello

I like your tags plug-in on your site. What’s it called or it comes with the theme?

    (@ruscello)

@dcsabi: the plugin is called wp-cumulus

Got the same problem on my development environment. The problem is that the code produced looks like:

    <a href="https://example.com/wp-content/gallery/example/example.jpg" title=" " rel="lightbox[]">
    								<img title="example" alt="example" src="https://www.example.com/wp-content/gallery/example/thumbs/thumbs_example.jpg" height="125" width="125"></a>

To be more precisely, problem is that the keyword (or variable?) %GALLERY_NAME% is replaced with the empty value, not the gallery name, so the rel attribute of link looks like this:
    lightbox: rel=”lightbox[]”
    thickbox: class=”thickbox” rel=””

You can see it on the examples shown by RGGoode.

Should be fixed here : https://code.google.com/p/nextgen-gallery/source/detail?r=649

Will be release a new version in the next days

Yes. It works now. Thanks a lot!

The problems with Thickbox are gone with 1.4.3
    Thanks!
