This is one feature I would like to see as well. A friend of mine wants to be able to share photos, but have some of the galleries/albums protected.

I have been playing a little bit with some of the Add-ins that allow one to enhance the roles, but nothing seems to be real easy. Which I need for him.

I think the only way is to use some plugin that protects pages/posts and make 2 different kind of galleries: th epublic one and the private one, publishing them within the private page….

But I’m finding something to have control at picture level…

I’ve find a way to do it.
Add your gallery to a new page, and make this page private.
