[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery Sidebar Widget] 2 versions of the same plugin. Which is legit?

This one was put in the WordPress Plugins repository first ( authored by Matthias Geat @ https://maff.ailoo.net/2009/04/nextgen-gallery-sidebar-widget/ )
Current Version 0.4 https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/nextgen-gallery-sidebar-widget/Then I found this version ( authored by “ppfeufer” @ https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/users/ppfeufer/ )
Current Version 1.0.1 https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/ngg-sidebar-widget/
I could not find any mention from Description whether “ppfeufer” forked off his plugin from the “Matthias Geat” version. Are these 2 devs the same person?BOTH plugins have nearly the SAME text (copy&paste) in Description tab in WordPress repository… It appears to be the same plugin.
I’m confused as to which one is the legit and current version (as both plugins look like they were recently updated)… but have different dev author names.
