[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Singlepic Image Placeholder

I have added a couple of images to a page using the ‘singlepic” feature. Bith the pageand image background are black. The image shows fine, but instead of the image ‘floating’ on the black background, there is a white box oround the image that is obviously showing the size of the entire image.

Is there a way to turn off the feature that shows this ‘placeholder’ part of the image?
