I’m having an issue with IE on one particular site. I know since its just this one site I’m having issues with, it must be an incompatibility issue, but I’ve deactivated and re-activated all of my plugins and still don’t have a solution. I was hoping someone could take a look and let me know if I’m missing anything.

    I’m using WP 3.0.1
    NextGen 1.6.1
    My own custom theme

I’m only having this problem in IE and it is not a plugin incompatibility issue. Slideshow works fine in Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc.

https://www.sportsmedicineacupuncture.com/ – slideshow is in header on homepage only

Thanks Alex for a great plugin!

  • I think I’m able to fine a solution, I’m not happy with that but should work for IE7 :

    https://code.google.com/p/nextgen-gallery/source/detail?r=811

Changes will part for next release

    The fix works in IE7.
Thanks – I appreciate the quick response.

    Hi Alex,

Great work. It works for IE7.

It gives this message when I activate it though: “The plugin generated 1 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.”

I’m having the same problems with both IE7 and IE8. Works fine in Firesfox and Safari an Chrome.

I saw the fix above but not sure where it should go. The red is what is already there and the green is the fix? I don’t want to change anything wrong.

    Thanks

Ok…so the problem seems to be with something I am doing wrong. I looked at your page https://nextgen-gallery.com in both Firefox and IE. I’m running WP 3.01. Any particular plugin conflict issues that you are aware of?

This is so frustrating. I’m sure it must just be a setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have deleted started over etc etc. I still have the same problems. I want to try the fix above but am not sure of the difference between the shades of green and read. I’m “assuming” that the red gets replace with the green? I’m not a coder but not afraid to try this if it will work. Just need to understand what goes where. Thanks for all of your help.

    Sleenmg:
Have you tried my easy work-around? I suggest you download version 1.5.5 of the plugin here and then wait until a new release is available with the fix built in.

    Worked nicely for me.

    Sleenmg,

I just clicked on each of the 4 links at https://code.google.com/p/nextgen-gallery/source/detail?r=811 one at a time and copied all the lines of code and then pasted them in the corresponding file in my plugins directory overwriting the existing code then saved each one. Much easier than trying to figure out what was different. Worked like a charm. Good luck.

Yes I did that but still had a couple of issues with 64 bit. machines. Found another solution to use temporarily because I much prefer NextGen and the options. Thanks

    Thanks Alex,

    Great plugin.
Cost some time to adjust all the files, but now it works great in IE.

There is a MAJOR issues with this plugin in wordpress 3. I logged out and when I tried to go back in I get the White Screen of Death. Here is an article that mentions nexgen as 1 of the culprits. https://www.blogdemanila.com/do-not-install-wordpress-3-0-until-you-read-this/

I am at a crossroad no since I love the plugin but it will not play nice with wordpress 3.

    Alex, can you help?

Next week I will release V1.6.2, then IE7 should work again, sorry for the troubles…

    @sommertime
Didn’t understand your post, should not be related to this bug. Please open a new theread

The version just released fixed the problem for me, great job.

    Thanks for the feedback

I will definitely try this again. I’m looking forward to it working.

I’ll give some feedback when I get it done.
