[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Sort order and Display Bug – Please Help

I have been running nextgen gallery and believe it has broken after my upgrade to wordpress 3.1.1. I can no longer update my sort order and my image thumbnails are not displaying properly. The thumbnails are creating spaces where I am assuming the images that I chose to exclude would have been.
