• I just put this site up for my daughter and installed NextGen Gallery.

The “thumbnail” is not showing in any browser.

    View the website here please.

    Thanks much in advance!

  • Okay, it’s because i have an old version, can not find a download of 2.0 anywhere?

Have managed to put together a functioning gallery with some help from appleton.me sample page. Found that there’s a problem integrating it with tanzaku theme from Trippleships.

Is there anyone using this combination who found a workaround?

The base nextgen gallery works, just the galleryview plugin that is playing up…

I doubt this applies to all of you but I was having this exact issue and found my cause. I was defining my WP_HOME and WP_SITEURL in my wp-config.php file. These did not match what was stored in the database and apparently NextGen is just checking the DB which broke my thumbnails.

So if you’re using these in wp-config.php please change them in the DB or use the the web interface. Even if you are not using the wp-config.php to set these I’d check it just in case that is causing your problem. These can be changed under Settings -> General. If they show greyed out that is because they are being set in wp-config.php.

Thanks David, definitely not the path – was the interaction with the theme – when i switched to the standard theme after cobbling together my own ‘2.0’ version of GalleryView it worked.

So, unfortunately am currently running a gallery without thumbnails until I can find another solution. I think there are just too many scripts when it’s combined with the tanzaku theme ??

I’ve thought of the idea of using something like Picasa to bulk resize the image to the thumbnail size, and simply replaced the files that would be thumbnails with your personally generated “thumbnails”?

One thing I have had to work in the past is to use the Edit thumb option in the Gallery Overview (the listing of your thumbnails for this gallery) and manually edit the thumbnail. Obviously this is a worse case, absolutely gotta get it done solution that is extremely tedious with any substantial amount of images.

Just my two cents, but I am curious if anyone has tried the first option I mentioned here.

I had the same problem and was able to get NextGen to create thumbnails when I scaled the images down to about a third of their original width. My raw files were 3456 x 2304 px and that was apparently too large to create the thumbnails.

    Hope that helps!
