• I added new images to a gallery today when suddenly the thumbnails page began leaving odd, blank, spaces between certain thumbnails. I tried creating a new gallery, uploaded all the images again, created a new page for the gallery to live on. Each time, I get these random arrangements of thumbnails with, like, three thumbnails missing on one row, then two missing on the next row, then four showing up on the next row. I’ve messed with the options…I don’t know what else to do except remove the plugin and try reinstalling it.

    Any ideas? Thanks, much, for any help.

  • Hey Brad I’m having the same exact problem. Did you come up with a solution?

    Thanks,

    Hey Brad, I’m also having the same exact problem. Anyone knows what I can do?

    Thanks,

    having the same issue. reordering the images did not help.

    Also, how can I place the gallery in the spot I want within the actual page. I have text and then gallery but the gallery jumps up to the top.

    I too am having this issue, has been affecting my site for months now.

    I found the solution.
    Just must change the cmod rights, at upload folder and your gallery folder change to 777.

    It worked for me ??

    Hey guys,

    A few observations I’ve made with this issue.

    sort order:

    id = displays correctly
    filename = displays correctly
    alt/title = does not display correctly
    date/time = does not display correctly

    I also chmod’d both gallery and uploads in wp-content to 777 for good measure.

    WP Version : 3.0
    NextGen Gallery Version: 1.5.5

    cheers,

    I have the same issue here. Just happened all of a sudden. No idea what I did. I thought it had to do with editing a thumbnail, but that wasn’t it as it happens with images I’m 100% sure I never edited.
    Is it a bug? or a conflict with something else?
    I don’t like leaving my folders on 777, I change them to 755 after I’m done with NextGen settings…

    This isn’t the kind of solution I prefer, but I found a workaround. I put all the images in one folder, Zipped it and uploaded. That get’s them to realign properly.

    I have the same problem. For me, the blank spots appear in all sort orders. Can someone please tell me where/how I can change the chmod rights?

    I figured out how to change the permission rights. I changed the gallery and uploads folder in wp-content to 777 and it hasn’t fixed the problem. Any other folders or files I should change?

    I had the same problem. What worked for me was changing the “number of columns” setting in Options>Gallery>Gallery settings

    I changed it from “0” (max number allowed by theme constraints) to “4”. Set at “0” it tried to give me 5 columns, but there were erratic blank white spaces that didn’t go away no matter what “sort order” I tried. But changing the number of columns to “4” did the trick.

    Thanks, Lori. Your solution of “changing the ‘number of columns’ setting in Options>Gallery>Gallery settings” worked for me, as well.

    Thank you, Lori! This has been bugging me and changing the number of columns setting worked.
