[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Thumbnails on albums compact setting not showing

I have just installed the newest version of the nextgen plugin and created an album, added all the galleries and uploaded all pictures.
First I tried out this setting [album=id,extend] then tried [album=id,compact] which I like more, but I’m having a problem, the squares only show text (watch gallery) and not a thumbnail

and another small problem that I need some help with
how can I get the name of the gallery to show on top after clicking it?
it only says gallery nothing more
