[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Using a tagcloud as a widget

I’m attempting to use the [tagcloud] shortcode as a widget. I’m wondering how in the world to make it function like the normal tag cloud… I’ve embeded it in the Text widget via enabling shortcodes in widgets, and then adding it there.. but when I click on a tag, it simply displays a gallery in my widget with the matching tags.

This is not at all what I would expect, or what I would like.

I also just noticed for some reason, it takes me to the page for one of my posts… this is really strange.
