• Hi,

this might be a stupid question, but I’ve tried a search to no avail…

How exactly do I find my tagged pictures? I’ve assigned certain tags to certain pictures, but I’m not sure how to now call those specific tags so that specifically-tagged pictures appear?

Yeah, could someone please help? I mean, surely the tag feature isn’t just a red herring; I’m guessing it has a functionality, right?

Can anyone offer some help on this? I posted the same question as well and no responses. What’s the point of tagging pictures in nextgen gallery if you can’t search or have them appear in a tag cloud?

No, didn’t see those before. Thanks for the help. It kind of helps. The tagcloud code works but not perfectly. The tags you click opens those images on the same page. I have other albums on the same page so it would be great to figure out a way to figure out a way to have the images associated with a tag to open in a separate window like with Flashviewer.

Or find a way to put that tag cloud code in the sidebar

I’ve also seen the https://nextgen.boelinger.com/tag-cloud/ and it doesn’t work at all.

I’ve also seen this, but I can’t make it work. If anyone can…please advise.

I think Alex should provide some solution to the search by tags problem everyone seems to be having.

Hey Alex, you should create URI’s that display galleries based on tags.

For example, links could be of this format:

    https://www.yourSite.com/Wordpress/ngg-tag/TagName

On my site for example, Maybe i want to show models of all my footwear that are called the “Rook”

    the URL would be https://www.bettafootwear.com/ngg-tag/Rook

Users will see all shoes labeled “Rook” even if they are in different galleries. What do you think?

Also, would be cool to have multiple URI’s that go to the same place.

    Example:

    bettafootwear.com/ngg-tag/Rook —–|
    bettafootwear.com/footwear/Rook —-| All Same Page
    bettafootwear.com/whatever/Rook —-|

All of these would load the same exact page and you can specify how many different URI names to have.

    Would be awesome!

Also have a Tag related problem. In the Ngg options there is a option to show similar Images based on tags. I thought that the tags that i have written in the ngg gallery would be used. But the article tags are used. So what is the point to write tags to all pictures. As far as i can see there is no benefit ?

I guess Alex should provide some solution for this or atleast reply this thread.

I don’t see that Alex should do anything. The plugin’s free and he can do what he likes. There’s nothing to stop anyone learning PHP and fixing their problems themselves – or paying someone to do it for them.

I agree. While I have reached the same frustration being unable to use the image tags it is MY problem, not Alex′s, and I am most grateful for what he has done so far for free. I will have to wait or find another product to replace or complement NGG, although so far I′ve been unable to find it.

You don’t see that alex should do anything willkemp? That is so lame of an response. Alex singed up for creating something like this, he knew going in that people would want features and it would have problems that would come up. If he didn’t want requests like this than he should have never made this plug in in the first place…But he did and If it was me, I’d guess that I would have done it to make the web a better place to show off photography (thank you alex, I love the plug-in) and maybe a way to get his name out there. You don’t like it willkemp + Arroyero, no one cares. Keep it to yourself…no one asked you to express your feelings and this is not a feelings forum. This is a technical forum. But I’m guessing you knew that.

    Thanks for reading.

I’m currently indeed work on a different task, the whole “tag” issue with correct permalinks and many more causes some headache. If I found some way to get this running I will of course include it or as willkemp mentioned, a talent developer is always welcome to help and contribute some code…
