    1.7.4 + WP 3.1 = NOT working for me. Ever since upgrading, my gallery page loads fine, but clicking on one of the images results in the dimmed-out “loading” screen coming up and just hanging (the image never actually loads). Also, there is no way to cancel the loading process, as the Esc key does nothing. Not good, since I run a photography site! ??

    It is ot about NextGen – your theme its not compatibile with WordPress 3.1.: CHECK IT HERE : https://themeforest.net/item/prestige-ultimate-wordpress-theme/discussion/132654?page=61 there is also little help.

    I had same problem – Just downgrade wordpress to 3.0.5 and it works again.

    Nevermind. Alex…mea culpa and sorry to complain! I didn’t realize there was an upgrade to my theme. I forgot to check. Workin’ fine! Take it as a compliment that I depend so heavily on your plugin! ?? ?? ??

    @alex

    I’m having an issue with WP PrettyPhoto and NextGen. Have you run across this issue yet? Have you tested WP PrettyPhoto with NextGen since the update?

    I’ve checked on the WP PrettyPhoto boards and there’s some issue with that plug-in conflicting with the new jQuery in WordPress.

    Also, the Next Gen Slider broke as well. There seems to be an update, which I just completed.

    Any suggestions on another plugin to use other than PrettyPhoto? I know NextGen ships with Thickbox, Lightbox and the others.

    If you have a moment, I’d love to get your feedback. Thanks.

    @wyrostek

    Thanks a million…got everything squared away now. And sorry Alex for assuming it was your plugin. :-/

    Alex,
    NGG 1.7.4 worked fine with WP 3.0.5 for me, and still works mostly ok: I’m able to generate new galleries, download photos etc. But there are still some challenges:

    1. When downloading new photos – all of them far below 2 Mb limit – the generation of thumbnails succeeds with some photos, but not with all. I have no clue why some thumbnails generate ok, since there are not obivous differences in photo size or content.

    2. Maintaining thumbs in admin mode does not seem to work, even though the thumbnail editor states “thumbnail updated”.

    3. All photo galleries I now have display thumbnails ok, but with both Firefox and IE 8 most photo galleries stop loading full photos after two or three shown photos. Individually selected from thumbnails any photo loads fine (either as a slideshow in the page or PicLens).

    I use Atahualpa which has so far been working perfectly with NextGEN, as well as NextGEN Gallery Sidebar widget, still working fine.

    I understand there could be a problem with the web hotel operator (e.g. with cacheing), but most likely it seems to be some kind of a compatibility problem with WP 3.1 and NGG 1.7.4, as many previous comments also seem to state.

    NextGEN is an excellent tool and I sincerely hope these issues can be solved.

    Thanks for trying anyway!

    A comment on my previous comment about NGG 1.7.4 and WP 3.1:
    without changing anything else but downgrading WP back to 3.0.5 everything (including all problems I stated) worked fine. I did not touch any content, nor any plugins.

    So obviously there is an issue with NGG 1.7.4 running on WP 3.1.

    There is an issue with NGG 1.7.4 running on WP 3.1 I’m totally in agreement, but I am terrified to downgrade.

    yes I see his post now. durrrh on my part.

    SOOO Sorry. thank you so much. ??

    No – merely refuting the suggestion that he is not reading these posts.

    yep, gonna not assume it’s the plugin, will uninstall and just upload the previous version. Fingers crossed.

    I completely deleted the plugin reinstalled the earlier version 1.3 and it’s not working at all. SO I’m thinking it’s not the plugin, it’s something else. Sooooo sorry to have been all “yer fault” lol. Man this sux…..
    it’s only when I try UPLOADING, it uploads the image, and i get a blank thumbnail gif and blank photo.grrr

    it’s not the plugin, it’s either the new version of wordpress or my hosting company, I’m getting the exact same errors with every website I trial try, whichever plugin version I use. KEEP THE FAITH!

    WordPress 3.1 uses a new version of jquery that causes the conflict.

    You can download an older jquery here and replace the jquery folder in your wp-incudes/js with the one you downloaded.

    After that it should work again…

    At least for my gallery it worked…
