This is a really basic question – I’ve unzipped and uploaded the svg-vector-icon-plugin to the plugins folder. Inside wordpress, I clicked to activate WordPress Icons – SVG. The plugin remains gray and doesn’t activate, although the page refreshes. It still says Activate (versus switching to Deactivate).

I confirmed that this is specific to WordPress Icons.

    Hi AR_Bigelow,

After clicking Activate, does it give you an error at all? It is only with this one plugin as well?

Very strange, I’ve never seen that issue with any plugin.

It could possibly be a write permission issue. Double check that your wp-content folder has write permissions as the plugin creates its own folder to upload icons to in this location.

No error–when I click Activate, the page refreshes but nothing else happens. Yes, this is the first plugin I’ve seen this happen with.

I’ve uploaded other plugins recently to wp-content/plugins and haven’t had any problems, so I’m not lead to believe that it’s a permission issue.

I have WordPress 3.5 (which might be earlier than most installs for your plugin).

Thanks for your quick response–I’ve been working with the website more frequently (recently) and I’m really pleased with how helpful and grass-roots the WordPress community is.

Yea , You are correct. When I created the plugin we were on version 3.7. Things were probably structured different back in 3.5 as far as the file structure goes.

Might I ask why you’re still on 3.5? I only ask because its a major security issue, and there are publicly known security flaws with your site (or any site running 3.5).

No particular reason except that 3.5 was what the site was created in. I suppose it’s time for an update.

Thanks for your help nonetheless. Cheers!
