    Hi!
I have installed this plugin some week ago and I had never noticed it never really did any back up to my bucket. I inserted both keys from Dreamhost panel, I enabled weekly automatical back up and I get a greyed out box at the bottom of the plugin window saying ‘back up in progress’. It even told me a backup was scheduled for tomorrow at 6 pm. Even if I disable the automatic backup, I still won’t be able to let me manually start a backup for that greyed out box. I spoke to dreamhost and they suggested I look for help in here. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

  • Updated the plugin for several “larger” sites and the plugin started working again on all except for 2 sites. Reinstalled the plugin and deactivated all other plugins on these 2 sites but didn’t make any difference. The dreamobjects page is blank. Nowhere to fill in the keys.

On both these sites I tried the manually backup a week ago and had the grey-out backup in progress message.

(I am not command line savvy)

Well. Okay so that means something’s ‘stuck’ – How technical, I know.

Try uninstalling it again. I know that sounds stupid, but it’s possible the uninstall failed to delete the keys (which it’s SUPPOSED to do) so the plugin thinks it’s partly installed still.

    Nope. Tried reinstalling several times.
Is there some way to delete the keys manually?

Yes, but it requires direct database access.

You want to go to your options table and delete all the options that start “dh-do-”

But … before you do that, would you be able to turn on WP’s debug mode?

Presumably that process is running on the server, not locally, and I am reluctant to mess about via SSH.

I’ll try uninstall, delete and reinstall.

hi! I’ve reset the plugin and re-inserted the keys and I scheduled a backup that was supposed to happen this morning but it didn’t happen (no backups stored) and now there is another one scheduled in for the 9th. I am starting to think that I’d better get my backup from dreamhost manually every week instead.

Yes, the process runs on the server.

What did the debug log say?

@ipstenu sorry for the stupid question: where can I find the debug?

    Not stupid ??

Go to the main settings page and there’s a checkbox to enable debugging. Check that and update settings.

Turned on the WP debug and log and it has the following data in it:
[02-Aug-2018 04:34:01 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined variable: this in ####/wp-content/plugins/dreamobjects/lib/settings.php on line 189
Same error for line 189 till 227

Quick note: just updated another site with a working backup dreamobjects plugin to the newest released version 4.2.0 and it also gives me the blank page now.

    Well damn it.

What version of PHP are you on?

    | The dreamobjects page is blank. Nowhere to fill in the keys.

Yes that did it. The sites with blank pages were still running php 5.6. Once I upgraded to php 7.0 / 7.2 the plugin page started working again.
I run successfully an Immediate Backup and setup a scheduled backup.

    THANKS!

Whew. Okay, I’m going to up the version supported to be 7.0+

SUPPOSEDLY the AWS SDK supports 5.6 but apparently not. Grrr. Stupid Amazon. No cookies for you!
