Plugin not compiling anymore after website migration

Since a couple of weeks I’m using the wp scss plugin for my new WordPress projects. Some of my projects I make locally or on a staging server first, to then migrate the website once the project is finished. A couple of times already, the plugin does not seem to compile anymore after a website migration. The stylesheet in the css folder is loading and working properly, but when I change something to the original scss files, nothing happens. Is this a recurrent issue? What can be the cause of this and how can I solve it?
