Plugin not saving changes

    Whereas other plugins, including wp built-in options appear to save changes with my current permalinks structure /%postname%/, Erident Custom Login and Dashboard just redirects to a 404 while trying to save the options.

    The only way I’ve been able to make changes is by manually editing the variables in the wp_options table using phpmyadmin.

    Any ideas on how to fix this?

    PS – this is a self-hosted installation on a linode 512 box using Nginx as the web server. let me know if there are any .conf changes you’d like to see.

    Hey Sorry for the late reply. Can you un-install the “Erident Custom Login and Dashboard” plugin and re-install from a fresh download?

    Let me know this will works or not.

    Hi Libin,
    No worries.

    I did as you asked but the problem continues to persist as above.
    In addition, the background graphic repeats only half the page https://bit.ly/Rwo9aB rather than the whole. Any idea why?

    Luckily this isn’t a plugin I need to change variables frequently ??

    I just noticed that you are using WordPress 3.1.2

    Please upgrade to the latest WordPress Version, 3.4.2

    I hope an upgrade will solve all your problems.

    Hi Libin,
    I updated to 3.4.2, and while the problem of the plugin not being able to save variables (without redirecting to 404) continues, the background graphic does fill the complete page.

    I am not getting what is actually happening to you.

    I think the problem may happen with conflict of any other plugins you installed.

    You can do a trial and error method by deactivating/uninstalling each plugin you installed and checking the problem solved or not.

    Thank you very much for trying to work with me to figure this out.
    I recognize how complex wordpress installations can become. It helps to know that this is not a “known bug”, and works on clean installs.
    Happily, this isn’t a desperate situation, so when I have some time, I’ll try to dig in and see if there are other plugins which are also affected in the same way this is.
