SilvoWas there ever an answer or solution provided for the two people who had trouble? (I’m curious because I am having similar problems)
Hey @yukon4, thanks for reaching out & I’ll gladly help you out with your problem, but those two queries mentioned above were not resolved, since they were initially posted before we took over this plugin only a couple of months ago. After that we made some changes to the plugin and only after that we also offered support to our users.
Don’t get me wrong, we are more than willing to help our users out with anything, but the changes before & after were quite big, so we kinda allowed us a fresh start.
As for your problem — may I kindly ask you what’s the blog in question and what were your trying to search for exactly? We’d love to test it out ourselves, if possible.
Let us know what’s up, since we’re more than eager to get this sorted for you ASAP! Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!

SilvoHello!
Here is our relatively new WP website:
And, yes, there is a BLOG within the website.
Within the setup page for ‘search everything’ it has a “live search” field and when I tried it out with the phrase “father’s day”, it returned a whole slew of old blog posts pertaining to that topic. (we added this plugin because the default WordPress and/or Canvas theme search did NOT search everything)
However, if you use the search field that is located on the right end of our navigation bar — it does NOT return all those old blog entries, and tells us there is “nothing”.
I’ve tried selecting and unselecting various options in the plugin setup and it makes no difference. We’d like it to search everything on the site: pages, products (which in this case are classes), and blog posts.
Thank you!
Hey, thanks for getting back to me & I appreciate the link! It sure helps us a lot!
As for your problem — I am only able to spot that one search bar at the right end of your navigation bar, but the other one. Here’s the one I was able to find: https://cl.ly/image/2F1a3h2Y1I3c
Can you help me spot the other one?
Also — bear in mind that our plugin can only extend the functionality of the WordPress’s default search bar, it basically relies on it, but it does not function / cannot operate with with any other ones that might come from other plugins or other custom themes.
Could this be the case why you aren’t seeing those results? Let me know what’s up, I’m eager to get to know more about this situation!
Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!
Best,
SilvoHi Silvo,
The other search box that works is the “live search” that is within the page where you configure the “Search Everything” plugin. (Settings > Search Everything)
I’m pretty sure that that search bar in the right hand navigation is the one that is the WordPress default — but I will double check! We are not using any other search plugins.
Thanks Silvo!
Hey, we’ve took another look at your blog and noticed that upon searching for certain queries the following message appears: “No products were found matching your selection.”
Which probably means that something else is in between our plugin and your search results. Which theme do you have installed? Does your theme have a setting that only searches through products?
I think a colleague of mine already tried something on that field, but we can continue our conversation over here (whichever way you like it): https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/it-doesnt-work-55?replies=2
Let me know if your theme has any other search options or not, since I’d love to help you out! Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!
Best,
SilvoApologies for the delayed reply. (been traveling)
The “search everything” is still returning few, to no results.
We are using Woo Themes’ Canvas theme. I spoke with the folks at Woo, and they told me that the search that is included with Canvas is simply the standard WordPress search.
There isn’t anything to configure the standard search that comes with the theme, all I did was add some code to have it display in the navigation bar. So, again, we simply want the search bar to search EVERYTHING on the website: the pages, the products, and the blog posts.
Within the area where one configures the “search everything” plugin, there is something called “Live Search” — a way to test things out. THAT works well. But the actual search bar on the website, that visitors use does NOT.
Any suggestions? We really need to get this working properly. The blog is very, very popular!
Thanks again —

https://www.otionsoap.com/I just switched over to Twenty Fourteen — and with that theme activated — the search bar WORKED.
I’ve written to Woo Themes.
Uggghh. There is NO WAY we are switching over to another theme at this point, we’ve put way too much work into customizing the site, setting up Woo Commerce, etc.
Surely there must be a simple solution?
Between your expertise and the Woo Theme’s folks expertise, I’m hoping we can get a “search bar” that works properly!
Thanks again!
Me again.
I was able to change a setting within WooCommerce so that the search bar now searches “posts” but not “products”.
So, now the search bar DOES return results that include blog posts.
But, theoretically, your plugin ought to enable the search bar to list ALL results, no matter whether it is in a post, a page, or a product description, correct?
At least the blog posts are displaying . . .
Hey, sorry for the late, too late reply! We’ve been just overwhelmed with some sudden workload in these last few days and I needed some time to read through your past replies — sorry!
I’m glad you got your way around the problem and that the problem wasn’t mainly on our side —?which isn’t that rare of a situation, to be honest, but we’re here to help nonetheless!
As for your search results?— yes, our plugin should search through your blog posts, pages, but your ‘product descriptions’ are not included by default. At least not the way your theme is displaying them.
But first we have to get something out of the way: you said that “I was able to change a setting within WooCommerce” — which setting exactly?
Also, if it works with the TwentyFourteen theme, we suggest you to take a look their search template in your theme editor and compare it to the search template of the WooCommerce theme, to see if there are any changes. The file should be called searchform.php.
Pay special attention to lines similar to this one:
<input type="hidden" name="post_type" value="products">
If there are any changes within those files, try to implement those lines from the TwentyFourteen theme, to see if its any better.
Is this a viable option for you or is it somehow not working the way you want to? Let me know, we’re still eager to help you out on this!
Take care & I’m looking forward to your reply!
Best,
Silvo
