• Hi, the plugin is not displaying at all in the cart. Only the cart items are visible but no timer/notification or any other warning. The plugin is active and settings are set to always with a 45min timer but noting displays in shopping cart.

Do you have WooCommerce set to manage stock?

Is this the first time you’re trying this plugin or was it working before and suddenly stopped working?

Hi James, thank you for the reply.

The plugin is working fine on another site of a family member but they have a different theme, together with a checkout countdown for woocommerce plugin. All settings are mirrored to the other site that is working. Yes, stock management is enabled.

My site only has one of each product, so when a person adds it to cart, it doesn’t seem to remove it from the shop. I added the countdown timer plugin as with the other site which is now displaying in the cart, but when it times out I am still able to check out and the cart is not cleared.

Am I supposed to be using your plugin’s timer, does it have one or a notification that is supposed to display? I could see no notification or any form of text telling the customer that the item is held for 45min as set in the plugin settings, hence I tried adding the timer as with the other site. The page is blank otherwise.

Thank you in advance for your help

Sorry to add to my message above, this is the first time I am using the plugin on this new site, so it is working on the family member’s site under the same settings, but not on mine.

This plugin uses the WooCommerce notice system to display most of it’s messages. It’s possible your theme is doing something funny with them.

Can you take some screenshots of the plugin settings?

On the backend under the ‘All Products’ page, do you see a ‘Quantity in Carts’ column?

What is the countdown timer plugin you have installed? Maybe that is causing a conflict

The counter is called “Countdown timer for woocommerce”. It wasn’t working before the timer either, which is why I tried it. If I remove the timer plugin, the cart page shows no notification at all unless set to ALWAYS.

I just spent a few hours trouble shooting. Ive removed the timer plugin completely so that is not involved anymore:

If setting is set to NEVER or ONLY WHEN ITEMS ARE ADDED, the blue timer bar does not display anywhere and the cart expires but the product is not removed automatically.

If the setting is on ALWAYS, it displays a blue and white bar on every page and works as it should by removing the item from the cart when it expires.

I would ideally like it to only display the warning on the cart page, which I assumed was for “only when items are added”. If there is no workaround for this, is it possible to at least have the color different to blue?

    Thank you for your time

‘Only when items are added’ would add a notice/timer on the page load after an item is added.

‘Always’ would add a notice/timer on any page (if there is an item in the cart that will expire)

If you would like to change the notices color you can use CSS to override them.

There isn’t a builtin method to only display the notices on cart/checkout pages right now. You could possibly add some code and connect to one of the filters to do it.

Hi James, thank you for the advice. I understand what “only when items are added” is supposed to do but it doesn’t do it, the plugin only works when used on “always”, otherwise it doesn’t display anywhere.

As you suggested I suspect the theme might be the culprit. I managed to at least change the colour of the blue bar displaying everywhere now with css as the best solution.

Thank you for a great plugin, looking forward to see it evolve.

If you are using the AJAX Add to cart setting in WooCommerce you might not see the notice (or it will be on the next actual page load) since notices aren’t sent with the AJAX request.
