Hi there, I have been building wordpress sites since 2010 and quickly moved away from page builders and only use Block Themes. The Studiopress and CSSigniter themes are great. This is the first theme where I encounter a plugin not supported for blocks. The only reason I used the Listee 1.1.0 theme was because I have over 100 business listing to create. Are you able to resolve this issue to ensure the WP Job Manager plugin will be supported for WP Blocks? Greatly appreciated, Kent Routen.

  • Could you clarify what you mean by not supported for blocks? I haven’t encountered any issues with using this plugin with Gutenberg and other block-based editors.

Thanks for your reply @hastibe when I am creating a listing it is not possible to add a block to my listing and all I have to use is the old classic editor. I contacted the theme publisher and their reply confirms this.

    Hi there.
WP Job Manager, developed by Automattic, currently does not have full support for the block editor. As a result, when you switch themes, again WP Job Manager does not support the new editor. However, I would like to assure you that the theme you are using fully supports the block editor, and the issue lies with WP Job Manager itself.

To resolve this, you’ll need to wait until WP Job Manager officially supports the block editor. Once Automattic adds block editor support to WP Job Manager, your theme, Listee, will automatically become compatible with the new editor. Please note that this compatibility update depends on WP Job Managers’ development and release schedule.

Ah, yes, it is strange how Automattic has pushed implementation of the block editor in WordPress core, but neglected to prioritize implementing it in its plugins (like this one, WooCommerce products, etc…). Especially considering that the block editor was implemented in WordPress core more than 4.5 years ago now, back in 2018!

Maybe someone here knows a workaround to enable the block editor in job listings, and I recommend opening a ticket on the WP Job Manager GitHub requesting that the option to enable the Gutenberg block editor be added to job listings.

    Hi there,

Anastis from CSSIgniter here. If you are interested in the reasoning behind the WPJM team not enabling the block editor on job listings, this discussion explains it.

However, as you can see by typing a reply right here on the WordPress forums, the block editor can now be integrated on the front end as well, so hopefully we’ll see full blocks support in the future!

Thanks a lot @hastibe and @anastis for chiming in ??

@kiwisenz does what’s been shared so far answer your question?

OK thanks Anastis. Real bummer no blocks editor for now so hopefully within the next 12 months.
