• When I try to use the plugin I get the following message: Add Link to Facebook – Motivation: Add link: Facebook error: (#200) The user hasn’t authorized the application to perform this action @ 2014-05-01T15:16:37+00:00

I have followed the FAQ extremely carefully, I have reactivated the plugin several times and even created a second app just to test if the permissions were all being correctly set.

I also tried disabling plugins…. any other suggestions? :/

Google search + FAQ did not help, my theory is that for some reason the app cannot properly grab all of my facebook permissions and there is no clear way to add them.

  • Look around in the Facebook application settings.

Tobo I have the same settings on mine, maybe we need to make the app public?

There is no need to make the app public.

But that is the only thing what you can do on facebook, i dont understand that. When i authorize the app I find it suspicious that there is:

“Damit kann die App nicht auf Facebook posten” means “its not possible for the app to post on facebook”…

I have just tried to create a new Facebook application and tried to authorize the plugin and I run into the same problems as you. Facebook is making it harder and harder to use third party tools like this plugin. It seems that the new procedure is that Facebook reviews each and every application now. Quite an annoyance.

F* facebook. Sorry for disturbing you… its the force of the mighty. Is it working with the pro version or is it only a facebook problem? i have no problem to pay for a good plugin. I only wondered why the normal version isnt working…

If it doesn’t work with the free version it doesn’t work with the pro version either. Existing installations doesn’t seems to be affected, but new installations seems to run into this problem.

It looks like that a new Facebook application, required for the plugin to work, has to go through a lengthy review procedure: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/review/

This makes it not so easy to setup the plugin anymore, to say the least. I guess there will be a lot of complaints about this, because this does not affect only this plugin, but all other Facebook related plugins and in fact any third party Facebook service (not necessary WordPress related). I guess Facebook wants to isolate itself from the internet.

Lets see where this goes, but if this does not change, I might drop support for this plugin altogether.

I have updated the setup instructions with the new Facebook procedure, but I have yet to see how the new permissions review process works.

Thank you very much for looking into the issue Marcel ??

    You are welcome.
Please let me know if you got through the review process.

I did the review process. Im feeling like I’ve sold my soul. FB is evil.

    LMAO
I feel the same way. But UNFORTUNATELY too many people use that DAMN site it is inevitable and necessary to add it to your site. I wish I didn’t have to but that’s what everyone wants to be on and linked to FB

As far as the old/new installation goes it is not working for me and I have had it for a while. Worked for a while using one app id changed ids and now dead. CRAP CRAP CRAP.

update: if you have any old app change it to fit your needs and add it your plugin. Works with apps older than a few days. For some reason no new apps will work. will keep trying other settings.

Yes, old Facebook applications keep working, new Facebook applications have to go through the Facebook review process.
