  • Downgrading to 5.4.2 worked for me, thank you.

@alexanderkirchner is the problem WP Bakery, or is the problem 5.5? No one seems to know what is the chicken and what is the egg.

Thanks Peter – this worked for me as well. Looks like Ess. Grid wasn’t updated enough for WordPress 5.5. This was great solution

    jQuery Migrate Helper

For me, the problem is not WPBakery but the plugin MPC (Massive panel – add-on for WPBakery). Well, i must delete this plugin or wait for update. (4 websites fail… :/)

JQuery Migrate helper fixed the issue for me.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

My site had the same problem and we had essential grid activated, as soon as we disabled it, it worked fine. Somebody else commented the same but I can’t find their comment. I would try that first if you have essential grid downloaded.

I was working on a client’s website the other day after updating to 5.5. It completely crashed his website. I had to revert back to 5.4.2. It also just happened to my setup this morning. Completely corrupted WPbakery and Nimva 3. Reverted back to 5.4.2

    Hello all,

You must clear your browser cache and any plugin caches to solve the WPBakery backend editor not working after the 5.5 update. If you use a Firewall, clear the Firewall cache too if needed. Thanks.

“Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” worked for me. Glad to find a fix!

“Enable jQuery Migrate Helper” worked for me also.

    The plugin description:
With the update to WordPress 5.5, a migration tool known as jquery-migrate will no longer be enabled by default. This may lead to unexpected behaviors in some themes or plugins who run older code.

This plugin serves as a temporary solution, enabling the migration script for your site to give your plugin and theme authors some more time to update, and test, their code.

Install enable jquery migrate helper helped me. Thanks @-peteman-.

I have installed this plugin and MAGIC! Editor and Frontend Buttons showed up!:

Hey, the option that @abremen talks it works for me! Clean all the cache and cookies and try again to login into your admin panel.

Like I said, in my case, it works. Thanks so much!

jQuery Migrate Helper dindn’t work in my case. I just restored a backup from hosting server waiting for updates to be stable.

Hello! I got the same problem, WPBakery Page Builder is not working the edit section upon updated to WordPress Version 5.5, hope it will resolve soon, as I am on the verge of editing my website. I don’t have idea about coding so i only rely on the Page Visual Composer (the WPBakery Page Builder). Please anyone can help me would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!
