Plugin not working if WooCommerce is mu-plugin

Hi
I installed the plugin, but got an error message, saying that the plugin is activated but not functional because it requires WooCommerce 3.2+. However, I have newest WC installed. I have installed it as mu-plugin, for which the is_plugin_active returns false: https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/functions/is_plugin_active/
So any possiblity to check if the woocommerce is a must use plugin?
