• Hi Everyone!

We purchased Google places reviews pro a year and a half ago, and it worked fine up until 10 days or so ago. I know that the support licence has expired, but I would really appreciate some support, as the problem makes the plugin completely unusable.

Basically, if the plugin is activated, if I load edit page in wp-admin (not a 2-text block page, but a larger one), it takes literally 4-5 min to load. This is a no go, as I can’t wait for 5 min everytime I open up page editor.

If I uninstall the plugin, page editing goes back to normal.

come to think of it, only pages which have the plugin text seem to have issues.

    Could you please help?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi there,

An issue like that isn’t going to be unique or specific to our plugin. Instead, what is most likely happening is a conflict with ours and another plugin on your site. The only way to isolate this issue is the following:

Deactivate all plugins besides Google Places Reviews. If it works as expected then re-activate each plugin one at a time and test again until you see the problem again. Then let us know which plugin caused the error and we’ll dig into it.

If after deactivating all other plugins it still does not work correctly, then tell us where we can get a copy of your theme to test.

Also, we are in the middle of totally revamping how we do Business Reviews as a whole. If you’re interested in learning more about what we’ve got up our sleeves and maybe doing some beta testing for us, feel free to sign-up here: https://wpbusinessreviews.com

    Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the very prompt reply!

I’ve done exactly that and you were right! It is the Yoast SEO plugin that conflicts with yours.

It is worth mentioning, however, that as I said this issue was not there 2 weeks ago, and it happens both on our main website (with up to date premium Yoast) and our test website, which has a much older version of Yoast.

Based on the above, we can conclude that a recent update of your plugin caused the issue (as yours is up to date on both websites).

As Yoast SEO is quite a popular plugin, I’m surprised more people haven’t voiced their concerns.

P.S.: tried a different theme and same issue, so the theme is definitely not involved.

    Thanks agian!

Let me try to replicate that problem and get back to you. Perhaps there’s an easy work around. I’ll let you know. Thanks!

    Hi Matt,

Did you manage to find anything ? ??

Apologies for the delay. I tested this locally and could not replicate any problem there at all. Have you updated to the latest version of Yoast SEO?

Also, I know this sounds weird, but sometimes it might seem obvious that the problem is between two plugins, but it potentially could be THREE plugins. Did you try disabling all plugins except Yoast, then see how it loads, then ONLY Google Places and see how that loads?

If you did that and it’s terribly slow it could be a conflict between those two plugins and your theme and/or theme builder. What theme and/or theme builder are you using?
