    I’ve installed your plugin according to the video tutorial you posted and everything was alright until I did a manual backup to see if it was working.

    I received this error message: “The backup failed: The server failed to retrieve data from your blog. Please check your blog is not experiencing any network issues and try again later. Please consult the event log for more information.”

    There are not network issues as far as I can tell. I tried the manual backup twice and got the same error message. Any idea how to solve this?

    Hi ginpan,

    I got your email through. For some reason we’re not receiving notifications of new topics from the support forum anymore… anyway.

    I’ve looked into your issue and each time the server attempts to retrieve the backup, it gets given a 503 Service Unavailable error code. If we look at the content that comes with it, we see a Maintenance Mode page.

    It seems you might have a maintenance mode plugin of some sort that is completely blocking all access to your WordPress site, so the server is unable to get at the backup.

    Try disabling that plugin and see if a backup works.

    The other error you have – the SSL connection timeout – is different to the failed to receive backup error. This is normally due to network issues at the time somewhere between your server and our server. If it keeps happening let us know.

    And lastly, we’re aware of those two warnings your host picked up and they aren’t anything to worry about – we’ve fixed them and will release a minor update in due time once a few other outstanding issues are resolved.

    Again, sorry for the late response. I hadn’t received notifications and I only jump on once a week otherwise just in case.

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I do have the Maintenance Mode plugin activated as I want to get the client’s approval on the site before it goes live. Hopefully this will happen next week. Once they approve it I will take off the maintenance mode plugin and see if the backup works without it.

    Please bear with me until then. I’ll let you know if I still have issues.
