[Plugin: Onswipe] Ghost Items Repeated in Multiple Categories

I’m getting what might be called “ghost items” – which can’t be clicked on to see the content page – from one specific category appearing in the browse pages for another specific category.
Say I have categories #1 – #9, all items from Category #2, say, will appear when browsing #4, but can’t be clicked on, and all items from Category #5, say, will appear when browsing #7. But not visa versa.
I have deleted the items and entered new ones from scratch but that does not fix it. It happens on the iPad and in Safari on Windows using the iPad UA. Clearing the cache does not fix it. It does not happen when browsing categories in the WordPress theme.
