I am in the process of creating a website on my PC using XAMPP and have just discovered and installed the oQey gallery.

My problem is that I want the Gallery link in my website nav bar to go to a page where a selection of galleries/albums are available (portraits, landscapes, etc), and then for the user to be able to click on the desired album and then to view a slideshow of those subjects. Is this possible? I have not been able to work out how to do this.

    Thanks.
    Diane

  • Hi. Creating links to a specified category is a WordPress native function. Sorting posts by a category is a matter of a few clicks in WP. Creating posts with galleries is covered by our tutorial here: https://oqeysites.com/how-to-use-oqey-gallery-plugin/

Hi, thank you for your reply. I think I may not have expressed my question correctly. I don’t want to create a post with a gallery – although I do know how to do that. I have watched the video in your link, and it does not address my question.

To explain my situation: I have created a Gallery page, linked from a tab on the main navigation bar. When someone clicks that link, I want them to then see a selection of albums (as thumbnails) of different subjects, as outlined above. I want them to then click on the relevant thumbnail and then be taken to a slideshow of those images.

At the moment, the full slideshow appears when clicking on the Gallery link in the nav bar. If I want different subject matter in another album, I can see that the only way to do this is to insert multiple slideshows on that initial Gallery page, displaying in-line down the page.

It would appear that I could achieve this by creating sub-pages for the image categories/albums I want, and create my own thumnail links from the Gallery page, and putting the slideshows on those sub-pages, but this seems quite a long-winded way to achieve what I want.

Ok, check this link pls.: https://blog.rickwenner.com/galleries/?cat_ID=6
If that is something you’d like for yourself, then it’s a customized gallery pack and yes, that’s possible for commercial versions.

Yes, that’s the idea I’m looking for. How do I get that?

That’s a custom gallery. To order one, please check our website (oqeysites.com) and write an email. Thank you.
