    Another question…

I have my database in Estonian, so the alphabet contains characters like ?, ?, ?, ü etc.
Right now the alphabetical sort reads characters without their dots… Meaning, it reads ? as a. The problem is, that a is in the very beginning and ? is in the end of the alphabet – which can create rather big confusion.

Is there a way to specify the modified alphabetical order somewhere?

    Thanks, Eva-Maria

    Hi travelmoments,

This is a very interesting question, and it is more complicated than you might think. I am going to look into this because it is important to me the plugin can be used anywhere in the world. Look for it in a future upgrade.

Thanks, that is good to hear that things are in the works.
In the meantime,it would be OK for me as a temporary solution to get the right alphabetical order on the public output pages, even if it was ordered by the first letter of the name.

I don’t have much experience in the coding area and it might be a stupid question, but … Would it be possible to use a shortcode to list names starting with A, then B, then C etc, so that I can specify the alphabet as a filter?

    Thanks, Eva-Maria

    Eva-Maria ,

Yes, it’s possible. You do something like this: [pdb_list orderby='first_name' order='asc']
