[Plugin: pb-embedFlash] Sidebar Widget .swf not clickable

Some information please:

1. A screenshot of the widget settings or detail information
2. Is the .swf created by yourself?
3. Where does and should the link goto? (“not working”)
4. An URL to an example would be very helpful

The working site is https://www.richmondbiznews.com

I pulled the Main.swf file from a Joomla powered site @ https://richmondbizsense.com

The link is embedded in the file and because I didn’t build it, I am not sure how. But I do know it works on the Joomla site.

By The Way, the o={AllowScriptAccess=\”always\”} was my feeble attempt @ fixing it and the \’s show up once I save the settings. Not sure why…

I don’t know why the ” are escaped in the widget settings, this did not happen to me yet. Anyways, allowscriptaccess is a parameter (p={}), not an attribute (o={}). It’s also set to “always” by default. So you can delete that line.

Oops, sorry. I meant to describe the banner. It’s the one on the right hand side for “Robins School of Business”. Same banner on both sites, but is clickable @ https://www.richmondbizsense.com

Are you sure you’ve copied the correct flash file? The button is a bit different (text/shadows).

Please try https://www.richmondbizsense.com/images/banners/Main.swf as URL in the widget configuration, so you’re hotlinking to the “clickable” version of the flash.

I pulled it from that folder… but I suspect there is something else happening that I am not seeing. Nice catch.

So I guess if my .swf is setup correctly, then the clickable elements will work with pb-embedFlash?

pb-embedflash only generates the (xhtml) code necessary to embed flash object – like pasting your own <object> tag into your website’s source code.

So: Yes, it should work with a proper .swf file.

Well I figured it out. I found two .swf files in the source folder… Main.swf and main.swf – I hold the original developer responsible for using bad naming conventions, but that’s neither here nor there… Used the correct file and all is well.
