Pods 2.X can be resource intensive. A major focus of Pods 3.0 is improving performance.

If you can tell us a little more about how you are using Pods, ie content types, field types, etc. we’d be happy to help you work with any possible optimization.

One good thing to try is our alternative cache plugin: https://github.com/pods-framework/pods-alternative-cache

Just wanted to clarify, Pods can end up using memory based on how many Pods and specifically how many fields and relationships you have defined. Like Josh said, we’re improving things extensively in those structures for performance, since we’re adding further complexity via the new Metabox grouping functionality and the new Loop field type.

Thanks guys. I think the cacheing plugin helped a little.

Have you got an estimated release date of Pods 3 yet?

    I’m glad that helped.

We are doing our best to get 3.0 into a usable beta as soon as possible, but it’s impossible to know how long that will take.
