Worked fine. I didn’t even know such code existed.

On a similar note,

I chose the fancybox option and the black overlay is appearing behind my thumbnails.

Any ideas?

The concept is the same. You probably have an interfering z-index setting in your theme’s CSS that is causing the issues.
