[Plugin: Picasa Album Uploader] Error uploading File

My guess is the IE install you have is too old to run the scripts. From looks of things, not only is a script in my area having a problem, so is a script from amazon. Or maybe you have scripts disabled in IE? Or some other security tool in place that is somehow blocking scripts in the IE environment?

I don’t run Windows and am not terribly familiar with the environment. It might help to see the HTML source on the page from before you stop the script. Specifically in the area of line 84. Assuming you can right click to view the source in the window.

You could try launching IE and opening the same URL directly to see what it does. I tried loading the login page specified above and around line 84 there is some javascript code being run and it doesn’t appear to be coming from my plugin. It runs fine in FF though so I can’t recreate what you are seeing.

So it’s not IE. I disabled IE and reset Firefox as my default browser. I am not getting the initial error, but I am still getting the permission denied error (line 1191 character 55) for the url https://z-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/browser-scripts/ca-site-wide-1.2.6/site-wide-3829119521.js._V166511971_.js

Any Idea what this url is? Is it related to your plugin?

Something on your site is grabbing an old version of jQuery off that amazon server. Maybe one of the other plugins or theme is doing this. While this plugin does use jQuery, it requests the version that is bundled with the WordPress install.

I suggest you take a look at the other plugins and themes to see which might be older and in need of an update. If you are able to search through your WordPress install you could look for references to amazon. Otherwise, I’m at a loss to explain the behavior.

It appears that culprit plugin was the WordPress Amazon Associate plugin. When I deactivated it your plugin worked.

Interestingly, when the plugin was activated the permission denied error doesn’t come when I normally viewed the page with the amazon links through firefox. The error only popped up when picasa was connecting to my site though your plugin. Weird.

For now,I guess I’ll have to make a decision between using your plugin or the WordPress Amazon Associate plugin. I should probably let the author of the amazon plugin know of the problem.

From what I read on the Amazon Associates plugin readme there is a known issue with the Amazon code loading a conflicting version of jQuery. There appears to be an Admin setting for the plugin that might avoid the conflict somehow. You could try that.
