[Plugin: podPress] Auto detect file size and doesn't work for Contributor

I can observe this too – with the current WP and podPress versions, Contributors are not allowed to use the auto detection buttons. I will investigate this.

This function was working before in the very old version

Could you be more specific? Which podPress version in combination with which WP version?

At least since podPress 8.8 the required capability level for this action was level_7 (Administrator, Editor). Contributor is level_1.
Although using these Levels to describe the capabilities of a user is deprecated since WP 3.0 it still works in WP 3.0.4. Administrators and Editors are allowed to use these buttons.

But it is right to switch to the newer capability names. Further I think it is plausible that a contributor should be able to use these buttons. That is why I’m going to set the capability which is required to use these buttons to “edit posts“. The settings pages will probably accessible with the capability “manage_categories“

It was working with WP 2.* and the Podpress when it was abandoned.

It would make sense that since anyone contributing the articles be able to add the sound file, should be able to detect the file size etc.

I have made the necessary changes and I would appreciate it if you would test the current Development Version (8.8.9.2 RC 1) of podPress.
