• I have just added a new podcast to my feed and all feeds (rss, atom & itunes) register the new addition fine. Also, the post plays the file as expected when clicked:

The widget ipixelout player, however, is not registering the new addition and refuses to update! I have tried removing and re-adding the widget which didnt help. I have also tried searching for the playlist.xspf file in my site but cant actually find it anywhere? is this normal?

    Any help appreciated.

    —– Update —–

Looks like this is a local browser cache issue. It would seem that the playlist is generated and cached in your browser and it does not regenerate when a new episode is added to the podcast.

Would it be possible to add a cache check to the player launch to establish if an update is required?

    /many thanks

Are you using one of the WP cache plugins in your blog? Maybe it is related to such a plugin. I believe the Adobe Flash Player has also some kind of cache memory.

I’m using different browsers on different computers with different Flash version but I have had never such problem and I’m using the default cache settings of the browser.
I have tested a lot with this player while have integrated it into podPress. Sometimes I had problem with the XSPF feed. But the player showed every change of the feed instantaneously (when something went wrong or when I fixed something.) .

The XSPF player, the XSPF Jukebox is a 3rd-party software in podPress.
