[Plugin: podPress] Podpress Plugin – Can't stream large mp3 file (400mb)
-
Hi there!
I’ve been using the Podpress plugin for about 2 years now, and I’ve never had a problem with it.
I’m not sure if the problem I’m having is because of the recent WordPress upgrade, the Podpress plugin upgrade, or because I recently shifted my blog’s hosting (wordpress database + content files such as mp3s) to Godaddy, but here goes:
One of my recent posts incorporates a large mp3 file (some 367 MB I believe) that I’ve put up for streaming/downloading as I’ve always done.
The player itself works fine, and the plugin recognises the size and duration of the mp3 file (156 minutes, 367 MB). if I click right and “save as”, I can download the mp3 file just fine.
The problem is with the streaming itself: clicking on “play” will buffer and then play the file, but only some 27 or 30 minutes of it, not the entire recorded set.
I’m wondering if the problem comes from the Podpress plugin not being able to handle such a big file, in which case I could just split the file into 2 smaller mp3s as in this post, or if the problem lies in Godaddy, which could somehow limit streaming/downloading capabilities of such large files.
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks!
Jonathan
