    if you activate the Premium Content feature of podPress, you can mark media files as free or premium. Premium have only a download link at the blog page or in the Feed while an user with the right permissions is logged in.

    But podPress does not make the media files un-downloadable. If some one knows the URL of the folder of your premium media files then he/she is able to download the files. So podPress can not protect your files. It can only hide certain download links.
    But there are maybe other ways to protect sub folders of your blog. Maybe with .htaccess and .htpasswd.
