• Hello,
I want to migrate my bilingual webcomic to wordpress from the current hand-made and unmanageable website.
I’m struggling with it since months, the webcomic plugins seems incompatible with any translation plugin out there (or need an unhealthy amount of tweaking with no one giving instructions about how to do it)…
I’ve been at a dead point until I found Polylang. Polylang is nice and seems to be working fine with the Manga+Press plugin, except for the fact I need syncing off (and I can’t translate the comic archive, but I’ll leave it to another time).

Problem is, the host I need to use won’t allow me access to the wp-config.php file.

With syncing on, it won’t let me to post the translated comic page, because it syncs the comic image between the translated versions, and I end up having both pages in the same language.
I disabled it on my local server where I’m doing tests and I saw it works fine, but I won’t be able to access directly wp-config.php on the actual webserver.

tl;dr – is there another way to disable meta syncing without touching wp-config.php?
I can edit any theme or plugin file without problems.
I tried to search the forums but I couldn’t find anything useful so any help here is appreciated.

Okay, nevermind, I just found that the PLL_SYNC constant default is set in polylang.php, so I changed it from true to false and it works. Still, I guess this means any time Polylang gets upgraded it will be overwritten… :/ It’s better than nothing though.

I hope this option will be configurable using the UI in the future… ??

Yes you will have to make the modification each time you update the plugin until I include the option in the user interface.
