[Plugin: Polylang] Multisite Problem

  • Hello!
    Great plugin!
    I ‘ ve just enable multisite and use wpmu plugin as well to map my domain.
    Everything worked ok.
    However, when I activate polylang in my subdomain and try to visit it, I get the error –> The page isn’t redirecting properly.

    Could you help me out what this might be?
    When activating other plugins, everything works properly.
    I also included rtl.css in my child theme.

    Could you help me out please?

    Your problem may not be linked to multisite. Could you test with the development version ?

    If it does not solve your issue, please tell me more about your configuration:

    Is the plugin activated at network level or blog level ?
    What is the permalink structure ?
    Are you using a static front page ?
    What are all the settings of Polylang ?

    Well , I upgraded to check the development version..
    I have set 2 languages, el and en_US
    my permalink structure is set to –> /%postname%/.
    However, I’ ve just set my front page to display a static page instead of my latest posts and it now works!

    Is this a bug, a prerequisite?

    I have one more question:
    I am testing your plugin in order to make the switch from qtranslate, which is compatible with ALO easymail newsletter.

    I have tried to make it work with polylang but I am not quite sure about the compatibility.

    Is polylang compatible with any other newsletter plugin, or is there possibly any other solution for internationalize newsletter?

    It’s a bug. Which dev version are you using ? 0.8dev7 ? If not try the latest development version as 0.8dev7 should address this bug.

    If there is still a bug in 0.8dev7, please report here the combination of Polylang options:

    set the language according to the browser preference ?
    Keep /language/ in pretty permalinks ?
    Hide URL language information for default language ?
    add language information to all URL ?
    Redirect the language page to the homepage ?

    To be honest, I don’t know if any newsletter plugin is compatible with Polylang.

    EDIT: I downloaded alo easymail, looked a few minutes into the code and saw that it has been adapted to both qTranslate and WPML. Since Polylang API is quite similar to WPML API, the author may be interested to add Polylang to the supported plugin list. Just ask.

    It’s Version: 0.8dev7 that you provided me in a link in this thread below.
    Problem occurs when:

    front page displays latest posts and
    Hide URL language information for default language –>NO

    The settings below do not seem to have an impact, at least in my occasion.
    (When the front page is visited, set the language according to the browser preference
    Keep /language/ in pretty permalinks.
    Add language information to all URL)

    Well… I have checked again and I do not reproduce the bug. Back your first message, I read that you use a ‘wpmu plugin to map your domain’. Maybe there is a conflict with it ? What is this plugin ? Is it this one ?

    I looked at this plugin and saw some redirections in the source code, so it is possible that there is a conflict with the redirection Polylang makes.

    Polylang with MU don’t get along too well so far..
    But Polylang with a single setup works great and fast!!!
