[Plugin: Promotion Slider] Can't get excerpt to work

I screwed up my *theme’s* functions.php file tonight, re-uploaded a correct, older version to get things working again, but now my Promotion Slider excerpts won’t work correctly.

I tried uninstalling the slider and re-installing it, but no dice. I have excerpts turned on in the options. I know each slide has an excerpt, yet on the first slide it’s the body of the story showing up and the rest of the slide nothing shows up. Is there some code in my function file that is missing?
