[Plugin: Promotion Slider] promotions do not show, i only see posts

Perfect, thanks so much for this. Apologies but I wasn’t clicking on the “use as featured” button but instead selecting “insert into post”. It’s all working now thank you ??

Hi there, using version 3.2.3 and I placed the shortcode

[promoslider width=”630″ height=”300″ time_delay=”3″ category=”Homepage-banner”]

into the html to see how this worked. I published just 2 promotions for this category to test, and when I preview (or publish) the page, it shows me a black/gray gradient placeholder box where the images should be. It also has the <<1,2>> sequence button.

So it looks like it’s trying to do the right thing but isn’t. I haven’t put anything into the CSS… should I? Or what’s the solution?

Did you assign a Featured Image to each promotion? When you are editing or creating a new promotion, you have to click on the ‘Set Featured Image’ link in the ‘Featured Image’ box on the bottom right side of the screen. When you click this, a new window will pop up allowing you to upload images or use images from the media library. Either way, you have to expand the view for an image and click on the ‘Use as Featured Image’ link for that image. When you return to the promotion editing screen, you should see an image inside the ‘Featured Image’ box.

You MUST set a featured image in order to show an image in the slider. If you inserted an image directly into the post it will NOT appear in the slider.

If you double check this and it still isn’t working, let me know.

I just installed your plugin:

Promotion Slider Version 3.2.3

and I have WordPress:

Version 3.0.5

I am inserting the slider with this code:

I have 2 promotions with featured image (described as above) but it only shows the last promotion title with blank screen.

ANY IDEA?

Ahh, I have missed wp_footer() in my custom theme, after putting this I can see the navigation stuff nit still not see the featured image..

Any idea?

Woodent, if the plugin is not compatible with latest version of wordpress? or do you think I am missing something…

The plugin works fine with WordPress 3.0.5. What you want to do is double check to be sure you have properly uploaded the images as featured images.

If you have attached images to a post or promotion, they will NOT show in the slider. To be sure you have attached the images properly, look in the ‘Featured Image’ box on the right hand side of the post (or promotion) editing screen towards the bottom. If you see a link in that box that says ‘Set Featured Image’, you have NOT attached a featured image. However, if you see an image in that box, then we need to figure out why that image isn’t being pulled into the slider.

I add image via “Set Featured Image” bottom right side of the promotion page..

After adding the image the URL goes in the editor and I can also see that image if I open the post itself..

But it’s not displaying the image into the slider..

On the includes/function.php
I found the function promoslider_display_image($values)

but I don’t see any call to action of this function.. may be you forgot?

It was my mistake…

I clicked on “Set Featured Image” OKAY
I added photo OKAY
Now what I was making mistake is:
I was clicking on the “Insert Into Post” button instead of “Featured Image” link..

It’s displaying like charm!!

Hm…. I don’t get my promotion slider to work, does it work on WP Version 3.1 and PS Version 3.2.3?
