[Plugin: qTranslate] Invalid characters in the_time()

I’ve just tried to insert a timestamp into my blog’s posts, and accented characters show up as “?”. I’ve tried to change the date method in qTranslate’s Advanced Options, but the problem remains. If I turn off qTranslate, the characters show up normal (also, other accented characters on the theme show up as normal, so the problem must lie within the plug-in). Is there a way to fix this?
