[Plugin: Query Multiple Taxonomies] query_posts not functioning 1.6

I was successfully altering the number of posts shown by qmt using
global $query_string;
query_posts( $query_string . ‘&posts_per_page=15’);
I’am now using 1.6.1 with checkboxes and this no long works. In fact no posts are returned.
Can any one help.
